The Star Spangled Banner is a very controversial term in the classrooms throughout the United States of America. Not everybody knows the Star Banner because they do not believe in our country. The question whether or not citizens should know the banner is a very controversial topic. Should the public be made to know of our countries song of honor? I believe that if they live in the United States then the person should at least have knowledge of what it stands for.
This topic relates to the Pledge of Allegiance, people across America find the song demanding. Not all citizens believe in the same god and to have the name in the song means forcing to pledge under our god. Its unfortunate the country has this problem; but the people have the right to argue the pledge. I believe both songs are respected well, but should be taken into more thought on when it should be recited. At every main event the banner is sang in U.S arenas. Since it’s our country we have the right to sing it, but forcing everyone to stand up isn’t right.
